I have finnaly kissed Win 98SE goodbye and up dated to Win XP on a new
P4 system. I am using a 2 way satellite system for my ISP. I also am
trying to reestablish my home networking system for his & hers
computers Because the satellite software and the networking software
don't really work wel together, I am using a piece of software called
Wingate for my networking setup, along with network cards in each
computer. When I go to load the Wingate software in the new computer I
get the following message. "Internet Connection Sharing or the
Internet Personal Firewall (on Windows XP) is installed. Wingate will
not operate correctly if they are running on this computer. You MUST
disable Internet Connection Sharing and the Internet Personal Firewall
in order to install Wingate."
I am having enouigh trouble relearning Windows as far as the XP
version goes. I have no idea how to perform the required disable.
I'm sure there are reasons for changing all the screens in XP but
as an old f---- I am a creature of habit, and I hate learning a
complete new format ala Win XP.
TIA for any help.
