Problem with picture folders

I have been having problem with some of my picture folders. When I go into
the folder and go to thumbnail views only the first ten or so show pictures
the rest of the pictures are shown as giant jpeg icons. I have tried moving
the pictures to new folders and have the same problem. The folders are set
up to handle pictures as indicated by the background display. This just
started happening recently. Is there a repair other then a system restore?

Hmmm this is interesting and shouldn't be happening. What happens when you
hit F5. Does it refresh the screen and still just the first few icons show?
How much RAM do you have in this machine? Low memory could cause this but
then everything else would be running really slow.

Have you installed anything recently? Any info you could give me would
help.
