Can't remote connect

Every time I try to connect using remote assistance, I
get an error message that there are problems on the other
computer. This happens with sharing application,
whiteboard, and Speaking. I've tried various different
contacts and still get the same message. If they try it,
then it tells them the same thing. I'm pulling out what
hair I have left, any suggestions?
