I hope this is an easy question and it gets an easy
answer.
Do I need (sun-java) on my computer? It seems to have
programs on it that I don't need or want, like...notepad,
Draw, Swing and Military games.
Just what is the purpose of Java? The program I
downloaded was 103 mgs. That's alot if it's an
unnessesary program.
If it is nessesary...
Is there a java somewhere that doesn't have all the other
stuff I don't want?
Any info would be helpful.
Thanks, lorie

Lot of websites use java script. Thing is java script can easily be used
for mischievious things that may affect your computer. And there's so many
ways of writing such script, there's no way to specifically identify some
lines of script as good or bad.
NAV provides an option to disable script as part of its options. Script is
disabled by default. This is targeted as java scripting.
