Dear All,
How can I hide an operating programme icon like the antivirus from the System tray and keep it running at the same time.

Right click on your start button, choose "Properties", click "taskbar"
tab, click "customize" button, click on icon you want, select
"allways hide".

My dear, you said (and I quote)
"How can I hide an operating programme icon like the antivirus from
the System tray and keep it running at the same time".

Do you want to hide it? Or not?

Other than "hiding" an icon, it is up to the program itself if an icon
is to be present in sys tray. If the icon CAN be removed from the
tray, it will be either in the programs options menu or the icon's
right click menu.

If you choose to hide the icon by the method "Skullywag" suggested, the
program will still function. Only, the sys-tray icon is *hidden*. That is
what you asked for, isn't it?

Dear Jax,
What I wanted is to hid the icon of the programme running at the background completely from the system tray. I used to do this as example to hide the clock using the reg. tools.
So I mean to leave the SW operating in the background but eliminate its icon from the SystemTray completely.
