Windows Search - Help!!!!

When I search for a file extension that returns lots of files, the search
stops responding. I have tried "sfc /scannow" but that hasn't solved the
problem. I'm tearing my hair out! Anybody got any other ideas?

check the options in the search companion and make sure
the settings are what you want.
when modified...size...advanced options....etc.
these can effect results differently.
