Invalid existing format.

If i try to Format the HD i get this error
"Invalid existing format.
This disk cannot be QuickFormatted.
Proceed with Unconditional Format (Y/N)" I said yes

"Formatting 19,092M
16 percent completed

Not ready
Format Terminated."

Anyone know whats wrong?

Answered in the basics group. Please do not multt-post - if you must,
cross-post and put the groups in the newsgroups field. It is annoying for
those of us who monitor 20-30 groups to answer a question over and over
because we can't remember whether we've replied or not.

You have at least two replies in the basics group - please go back there and
read them.
