View Full Version : Cannot Login Without Changing Password

Hi,
I just migrated from win2k pro to xp pro. I have 2 user
accounts set up. The primary account is not password
protected on boot-up. In other words windows boots up all
the way to the desktop. The second account is password
protected.

However, when I switch users, the password is not valid.
I have to switch back to the default user (admin account)
and change/re-enter the second user's password. Then I
log off the primary and can now log on to the secondary
account. I am positive I'm entering the correct password
because, after changing/re-assigning the password, I can
then switch between the 2 accounts at will.

This only happens at boot-up and I'm at a loss to
understand why.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Michael

Go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->User Accounts. You can change
passwords there. for instructions go to Start->Help and Support and do a
search for "change password"
