I have recently upgraded to xp home from me, I can't get the recycle bin to move over the task bar, and I have seen other users that got their icons to "hide" at the top of the screen.... can anyone help with either of these nags... I know they are minor,
but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You got my curiosity peaked with this post so I attempted to do what you suggest. I can clear the desktop entirely but can't get the Icons to drop down from the top. I can get them to display on the right of your screen at your desire. Here's how I did it.
Right click on the desktop and then place your cursor on "arange icons by>" and remove the check mark beside "show desktop icons" now close out. Then right click on the task bar at the bottom and place your cursor on "Toolbars" and then put a checkmark be
side desktop. Now for my sytem this put a little "Desktop >>" to the left of my clock and when I click my cursor on the double arrow the desktop icons are displayed as a list on the right side of my screen. Now if someone knows how to get that at the top y
ou have it made. I kinda like it actually. I may stick with this. Thanks. Good luck.

Unlock the taskbar so that the toolbar boundaries are visible. Grab the
dashed boundary line for the toolbar with the mouse. Drag the toolbar off
the taskbar and drop it at the upper edge of the desktop.

The toolbar is going to change shape. It will extend across the top of the
monitor and look very similar to the taskbar. Folder items within the
taskbar (such as the folders found in a desktop toolbar) should provide
drop down menus. I've never tried to make it shorter in this position but
have used Autohide. Right click in a blank area of toolbar and select
AutoHide or any of the other options you want to use.

Incidentally, you can drag and drop *some* Windows objects from Explorer to
the edge of a screen to create a toolbar. So far I see it working with: My
Computer, My Documents, Control Panel, and Desktop. If you get a shortcut
instead of a toolbar, repeat and drop the item closer to the edge.

To remove a toolbar that is not on the taskbar, right click on it and
select Close Toolbar.

You're very welcome. And you're right, it's harder to explain than it is to
do it. :)
