A few times I have gotten the message-bubble "a network
conection is unplugged..." and then the taskbar icon/with
the red X. A while back it indicated "Network Bridge 2"-
unplugged, now I have a NEW message with "1394 Connection"
indicated as "disabled".
Also am missing an icon that was previously in my "network
connections" place just a couple of days ago; "Microsoft
Broadband Networking Connection" The "Network Connection"
page looks like this [normaly];
Internet Gateway>
'Network Bridge [Network Bridge 2]'-MAC miniport
'Local Area Connection'-Realtek RTL 8139/810xFamily
Fast Ethernet NIC
'Microsoft Broadband Connection on Microsoft Wireless-
Base Station'
'1394 Connection'-Net Adapter
OK, so for whatever its worth thats what I have and I'm
not sure what it all means in regards to this query. It
hasn't seemed to have any affect on my browsing ect..
QUESTIONS: What are some of the common reasons for
this 'behavior'?
...AND..
Why would an icon disappear from a program that
hasn't been changed, modified or anything since its
installation?
...Also..; How does my system utilize the above connection
programs in regards to where firewall settings should be
made.
Also, Ive been trying to locate the place where ICF is
located , just to see if its in place, status ect...I've
never "been there" and I've looked at every piece of
information including following the directions to it
through three different interfaces. It asks you to click
on "properties" on your "internet connection", and from
there click "advanced"..Well I don't have the "advance"
option on ANY of the network programs, only the 'generals'
and 'authentication' tabs, [no authent. for 1394]. Also,
none of them will display the "status" even though in the
drop-down options box I click "status" as offered, nothing
happens at all.
I need to access my firewall settings since its the only
one I'm using at this point and am "shopping" for a third-
party one.
QUESTIONS; Where's the "advance" tab?
...AND.. ; Why no "status" report?
WinXP/Home/5.1/SP1
DSL
SpyHunter/1.4.42 + Norton Utilities
Hope this is enough info.
Thank you kindly for your help,
