Remember on Windows 98 there was a desktop icon on the
taskbar so that you could click on it and it would take
you out to the desktop without having to minimize or
close all your windows?
How can I get that in Windows XP? It won't let me drop a
shortcut onto the taskbar.
HELP!!!!!!!! TIA

Right-click on your Taskbar and select:
Toolbars > Quick Launch. The "Show Desktop"
icon should appear. If it does not:
Restore Missing Show Desktop Icon to Quick Launch

One must unlock the Taskbar before dragging shortcuts to it.
Right-click the Taskbar and select: Lock the Taskbar

Press the Windows Key + M , that'll minimize all windows, then press the
same again but also holding Shift to maximize them all again.
Quicker and just as effective.
