Hello, I'm running XP Pro and I recently installed all
the major recomended updates. My understanding is that XP
comes with Windows messenger. I downloaded and installed
MSN mesenger 6.0 because a friend who doesn't have XP
didn't have windows messenger and could only install MSN
messenger. I can open and run MSN messenger with no
problems. When I click on the windows messenger icon on
IE's toolbar I can also run Windows messenger with no
problems. However, when I click on the windows messenger
icon under start>programs>windows messenger it launches
the windows installer for Windows messenger and it keeps
hanging up, it won't install completely even tho it's
already installed. Also, when I try to rub Adobe acrobat
6.0 it launches the same windows messenger installer with
the same hanging up problem.
I've tried to remove it thru the add/remove windows
components dialog box but it says it can't remove it due
to a missing .dll file.
I'm at my wits end here, can anybody help?
