View Full Version : Compaq Tower

I installed an antennae for a second computer to be on my
comcast internet Program. Everything comes on except the
tower. I think my computer is in a power save mode, and
I can't get it out. Thanks Whitefeet,

I can read English, Vietnamese, Dutch, Russian, Spanish and German;
and I have no idea /what the hell/ you're talking about. Could you
possibly re-phrase your post in some sort of semi-coherent manner?

I'm going to take a wild guess that your computer won't turn on, the info your provided makes little sense. Unplug the unit for 10
seconds, plug back in, if it doesn't turn on you have a hardware problem.

Greetings --
Is English a second or third language for you? If so, may I
suggest that you try posting your question in a news group dedicated
to your native language? I say this not to insult or offend, but
rather to point out that you're not likely to get much help, if no one
can understand what you're saying or asking.
Otherwise, I'd suggest you start by reposting in standard English,
complete with paragraphs, sentences, capital letters where
appropriate, and punctuation. As it is, your post is quite
undecipherable: most of the words used are from the English
language, but are almost completely meaningless as currently
assembled.
Help us help you:

Unplug the computer for a few minutes and then plug it back in. See if it
will power up. You may have to flip the power switch on the back of the
tower if there is one. This should be a black flip switch if you have one.
Not all towers do though. - DONOT move the red voltage selector switch!!!
Check to ensure you have power to the computer. If you have a powerbar make
sure the switch on it is turned on.

Hello Bruce,
I notice that Harry Ohrn MS-MVP [Shell\User] was able to
offer a solution. Even I was able to deduce what the
original poster was attempting to convey, except that I
have no expertise in that area.
| reposting in standard English...
I dare say that if the OP was capable of doing this, then
he would have done so. Sadly, education systems around
the world have gone to the dumps. Since the Internet
became a popular medium for communication, this entire
planet has been "Americanised".
Also, there are myriad reasons why a person is either
unable or unwilling to use "standard English", even if
English is their first or only language.
Since the OP will not even be reading these replies, all
of this moot.

He may have offered a solution, which was the same as mine, but that doesn't mean we were even close in relation to what the OP
wanted, the point was basically GIGO, if we can't understand the question, we can't answer, we can only guess at what the problem
might be.

The question seemed pretty straightforward. The OP couldn't power up his
tower. That is what he said. You are right in that there could be a lot of
reason why it doesn't power up though including but not limited to broken
power switch or even a knackered power supply. I hope the OP will post back.
