The hotfixes are the security patches you have installed
from Windows Update. Only uninstall them if you are having
problems with a particular update.

The hot fixes are security and program patches that are supposed to correct known issues with XP. www.dougknox.com has a neat little tool that will allow you to remove the hotfix list from the add\remove programs list and any backups they create. Go to his
site and do a search for hotfix. Good luck.
