You can still get and use MS VM.

You may have to go into control panel\add remove
programs\Set Program Access and Defaults to use MS VM and
you also have to go into your IE Browser> tools\internet
options\advanced tab and scroll down to Microsoft VM and
put a check mark in JIT compiler and uncheck Sun VM
As for your repair issue you should put the disk in and
then when asked what to do you should choose Install XP
and then when it says an XP version has already been
installed on this sytem what would you like to do(or some
such words) then choose repair and it will do a complete
repair. If you are just missing XP OS files or have a
corrupt dll then you can put your disk in the drive and
close out when the autoplay selection screen comes up and
then go>start\run and type in sfc /scannow This will do
a System File Check and compare your present MS XP OS
files to those on the disk and replace any missing or
corrupt ones. Keep smiling.
