View Full Version : Bootup pops 2 applications over the desktop

When my system (newly upgraded from Windows ME) boots up each time it launches 2 applications instead of just presenting me with the Desktop. I am not sure why these 2 apps are launching but my sense is that they are recently used by me but not active whe
n I shut the computer down.

I can not find a way to make them stop launching at boot up. They are not in my startup windows group either.

Any suggestions or am I overlooking something obvious?

Thanks for the help...

Doug

Hi chapmand,

Look for the apps in the C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up and C:\Documents and
Settings\username\Start Menu\Programs\Start Up folders, also in the
system registry, here:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Good luck
