In windows xp, you can set up folder shares. You do this by right clicking
on a folder, selecting Properties and going to the 'sharing' tab. You can
do this with the whole drive if you wish, but it is equally easy to be
selective.
When you connect the other computer, you go to My Network Places and browse
for the machine. Alternatively, you can type \\computer1\sharename (Where
computer1 is the computer name of your first machine and the sharename is
what you called the folder when setting up the share).
