I see that kb article number 831938 "My Computer and Windows Explorer
unexpectedly quit when you try to open My Network Places or Shared Documents
in Windows XP" has a hotfix available but where is the hotfix located?
I have read the article and looked on the ms site at great length but did
not find the hotfix... I posted this same topic yesterday and someone
suggested to read the article ...well, I did that and did not find the hot
fix...

My Computer and Windows Explorer unexpectedly quit when you try to open My
Network Places or Shared Documents in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;831938&Product=winxp

The only way to obtain this patch is to contact Microsoft as outlined in the article.

To resolve this problem immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services
to obtain the fix. For a complete list of Microsoft Product Support Services phone
numbers and information about support costs, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;CNTACTMS

NOTE: In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may
be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update
will resolve your problem. The typical support costs will apply to additional support
questions and issues that do not qualify for the specific update in question.

Carey,
I think the OP is either "incapable of comprehending" or "refuses to
comprehend" what is read - most likely the latter.
