Word in XP

Microsoft XP Home & Pro have Wordpad which is a very
basic word processor, it does not come with XP by itself.

If you have Word then it was either already installed, or
part of a suite e.g. XP Office, Works, or stand alone
Word.

If your friend did not specify a productivity package,
she will have to install her copy of Word from her other
PC, or buy a new version.
