I am ready to purchase Windows XP Home Edition. Stores
stock Version 2002. Does this version include SP1 or SP1a?

If not, is there a newer version that does include the
service pack?

Thanks in advance.

Greetings --

As Service Pack 1 started being slip-streamed onto retail
installation CDs over a year ago, it's very unlikely that any
retailers will still have CDs without the service pack.

George;
The copies currently on the shelves most likely have SP1 included.
However there is no identification on the package to identify if the
included CD has SP 1 or not.
Version 2002 is the only retail version of Windows XP.

To tell, if SP1 is installed, try Start, Run, WinVer.exe.
e.g.

"Microsoft Windows
Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633: Service Pack 1
