ok i'm @ work and got a problem.. one of the ppl here ( i'm on the IT dep. )
keeps getting this mssg when he starts up the comp..

system error 1314 has occured, a required privileg is not held by the
client, could not find C:\windows\temp\*.tmp

he can just click that away and work.. but after 5 to 10 min the computer
fails anyway.. with the mssg..

Windows-System Error, Microsoft Windows detected and recoverd from a device
failure. Please save your work and reboot to restore full functionality

anybody know a way to fix it ? its a brand new laptop with a fully updated
winXP Pro installation.. the the user himself doesn't have admin rights on
the laptop and he din't try to install or something eighter.. and he can't
anyway..

anybody had this problem to and know how to fix it ?

First thing you may want to check is that the user still has permissions to
their temp directory and that they did not point the temp directory registry
entries to a directory they do not have access to.
