dvd jumpy

my dvd player is jumpy and crashes on some disks, I know nothing about them
but I'm guessing I need to get some more RAM.

Does anyone know any better?? All advice gratefully received

More ram might be an idea, the other thing you might want to check and see
if you have any other tasks running in the background. Operations like
defragmenting, burning a cd etc can put a load on your cpu. Try opening
Task Manager and then Minimize it so you can see cpu usage at a glance. I
