When I try to connect to the internet, IE constantly
refreshes and displays a message in the address bar. The
message is, "http:// www.searchassistant.net/dsnerror.htm".

In the Control Panel > Internet Options > General > Home Page set up
another homepage or use the "Blank" setting.

First eliminate any scumware.
