I have a user account with administrator access whose
settings keep reverting back to the original settings
(toolbar, background, etc.) when I restart. The other
account I have, which was the "owner" account, keeps it's
settings.

Any help?
Dean

Hi Dean,

Open Registry Editor [regedit.exe] and go to this location:

NOTE: Backup the registry keys before modifying. Use the File > Export =
option to backup the key.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Exp=
lorer]
Set NoSaveSettings value to 0. Repeat the same for this key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Policies\Ex=
plorer]

Restart Windows.

Dean,

If you feel uncomfortable editing the registry, you can download this edit
which will do the task automatically for you:

Save settings on exit (line 54, right column)
