When I point to "All Programs" under Start, I would like
to hide all inactive folder/programs, so I don't have to
scroll down or have 3 collumns. I believe there was an
option in Win2000. I am on XP Home Edition on Normal
Start menu view (NOT Classic Start Menu view).

It's called Personalised Menus and it's under Start Menu Options.
