View Full Version : No IE Options

When I click on IE Tools Options I get the Restriction message, "This
operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer.
Please contact your system administrator."

That's me!

I suspect a worm or Trojan may have made some changes to my registry or
elsewhere. The bugs are now gone and I'd like access to ALL of my pc now.

How do I get access back in my hands again.

TIA,

Terry

Hi Terry,

If you have Spybot Search and Destroy installed, see the FAQ here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/index.php?page=faq&detail=24

If not, run the fix that is available here:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
(line 129, left-hand column --> Restore Folder Options Under Tools)

Couldn't go through Spybot. It's running in advance mode so I couldn't
access the necessary page in it. So, I used your second suggestion and ran
the tweak from Kelly's Corner. Thanks Kelly! Again.
Now, about getting back to the old Spybot interface I recognize. Did that go
the way of the dodo bird when the latest version came out? It now just runs
all by itself with no way of stopping it short of using the three finger
salute (Ctrl. Alt. Del.).
Sorry. I'm never satisfied. 8-)

Glad the fix from Kelly solved the problem, Terry. As for Spybot, I don't
know anything about its new interface (or much about its old one, for that
matter), as I've only used it once.
