I have all of the critical updates installed. Do I need to install all of
the Windows XP updates as well? What about the driver updates listed?
Thanks,
Marsha

Don't bother with the driver updates, get them from your hardware
manufacturer's web site.

I recommend that you install all the updates. You may want to install
them one by one for easier troubleshooting if some goes wrong (this
applies to the Critical Updates as well).

I agree. I have kept all 3 categories updated. Nary a problem so far.

Thanks for the info. How do I disable the auto update feature? Normally I
would go to the page for my drivers, however, the other day auto update came
up & I went that way only to find out later it was for a modem driver. I
would like to disable the auto feature so I can do the downloads manually.

One suggestion: do updates every Saturday morning during
breakfast and watching the news.

Microsoft has announced that they will release updates on
second Tuesday of month. Since that announcement they
have released two (same) updates in one week..!! HA HA

Install all of the "critical updates" as these contain the security updates.
Download the driver updates as these apply to programs you have installed.
The others ("recommended updates") only apply if you use the program or
application they apply to.
