Scanner

I've just upgraded to Windows XP, and I am gaving problems with my 1200UB Scanner, the software tells me it's for Windows 98 only. I went onto Mustek's website and downloaded new drives, but there only the basics drives, I am unable to send a fax direct f
rom a scan- there is no OCR and I can't pick my default application, as anyone any suggestions. Regards Michael

Frankly, Mustek will tell you to purchase the new version of the software.
It is time to get a new scanner. FWIW, the new ones are usually much better
than the old ones. The only reason that I am still flogging my HP4p is that
it is legal sized and I need to scan those size documents in. The cost to
upgrade the hoary old Visioneer Paper Port software that came with it
exceeded the cost of a new scanner. Of course, you might want to try a
cheap scanner and see if the software works for your old one. That is what I
did. So far, so good.

How about trying the Compatability Wizard and set it for 98, wich it worked
with before?
