I used the Backup Wizard. After selecting the advanced
mode, I then clicked on the backup tab. I selected the
contents on the C drive for the backup. Under Backup
media or filename, I entered E: since that is my CD
writable drive (I had already inserted a blank CD-RW disk
on that drive). I then clicked start backup. The system
showed this error statement, "The backup filename could
not be used. Please ensure it is a valid path." What is
causing this problem? Per my friend's suggestion, I tried
to enter E:\backup.bkf but I found the same error
statement.

Greetings

NTBackup (i.e. the Backup Wizard) doesnt support backing up to CD's.

Back up to a folder on your hard disk first, then copy that to CD

Greetings

This will only work if you have third party software that supports spanning
to CD's (unless it's a small file). The built in CD Bruning Wizard will not
do it.

I suggest going to www.handybackup.com for a third party program that costs
only $30. I have used it and it worked fine, backing up my entire system on
four CD-RWs that were formatted. The formatting is important even though
"Handy" says it is not. At least that was my experience. Lanier clued me
into the need for a third party program a coupe weeks ago. He is correct.
