I recently downloaded an XP security patch and now notice
these files (?) on my desktop. I attempted one download
late at night and lost my connection to the internet.
Then downloaded again a day later. Could these be as a
result of my aborted dowload?
They are not associated with any application. I did a
web check and found out that one is related to a non-
specified service pack and the other appears to be for a
role playing game.
Can I and how do I remove them?
Thanks.

Has AOL ever been installed on this system? Those are the names for the
files their software creates for caching thumbnails and file names for
their picture viewer. They're safe to delete. If you use this feature, they
will be recreated in the appropriate folder (instead of the desktop).

Thank you! I did use picture viewer on the same day as
the download...and I must admit I don't know much about
AOL at this point either.
