After downloading Norton virus definitions the Auto-
Disconnect window that pops up when I close Internet
Explorer has disapeared. How do I get it back?

"How to Restore the Operating System to a Previous State in Windows
XP" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=306084). You may have to
update your virus scanner again afterwards.
