Every now and then I'll be about to click on something and
my cursor disappears down to the start button and opens
either the start menu or the right click menu or both
(without me clicking) [ it reminds me of someting similar
that happens sometimes with some popups]. TIA.
ps. how do you use the search on here? TIA.

Found fix for this.
Cut-up a cereal box same size as mouse pad and place over
the mouse pad. Works great for roaming cursors.

Rich:
Check your mouse properties. On the pointer options its a good idea to clear
the check box next to "Automatically move the pointer to the default button
in a dialog box" After that you can go to the "Hardware
tab/Properties/Advanced Settings Tab/Fast Initialization". If that option is
present clear its check box. I had the same problem with mine hiding files
and this is what fixed it.
