Ever since I got my new Dell with WXP I can't send links in e-mails like I did before - it just says that something is attached - and there is not - plus no link in body at all like before. I found an article at Microsoft - 256986 that seems to desc
ribe this problem and it tells me to ask Microsoft Product Support Services for fix - not happening. Does anyone out there have the fix? thanks. m

There has never been a link in the body in XP. It has always read: Your
files are attached and ready to send with this message.

To change that, run the script on line 60:

Hi Kelly - thanks for the idea - but it didn't seem to take. I don't understand what you mean by - There has never been a link in body of XP? It would be fine still - but NO FILES ARE ATTACHED and ready to send! I ran the one on left side of line 60 - corr
ect? It said it did it ok - but it still says the same thing as before. thanks, m

As you don't mention what e:mail program you are using I would hazard a guess it's either outlook or outlook express. I don't use either one personally as they are old, outdated, and feature handicapped. If I remember correctly though, it sounds like you h
ave the "Plain text" enabled and if so, you can't put links in the body of the message. Uncheck the "use plain text" and see what happens. Good luck.

Hi,

Once you run the script, the send mail is on the IE context menu. Other
than that and if you are using OE (can't tell because you are posting via
CDO), run these:

Set Outlook Express as default mail client - Start/Run and type in:
MSIMN.EXE /REG

Restore OE to the E-mail List in Internet Options (Row 9)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/restore_oe_client.reg

Restore Hotmail, Outlook and OE under Programs (Line 250)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Reset OE for Send To , Mail To , Send Mail (Line 64)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

If the above doesn't help nor apply, run all of these:

Ad-Aware
