Opening Word file from disk (saved w/ password to open)

[HLS869]

I have some files saved on a disk that were written on
Word 8.0. I saved some with passwords to open, but now I
can't open them at all with WindowsXP. I get an error
message of "An unexpected error occured while reading
A:.." Help!

Try copying the files to your computer and opening.

It sounds like the problem is with the Disk not the files.

Are you trying to open it from the file?

Open Word then open the file using File / Open
