Which app did you use to create the document?

What program are you using to write your documents? Some programs do not
contain a spell checker, but depend on using a spell checker from some other
program. For example, Outlook Express, does not have one, but you can
install Microsoft Word and then OE will have access to it's spell checker.

WordPad and Notepad do not have a spell checker either.

Besides Microsoft Word, there are 3rd party spell checkers that are
available for a very minimal cost. Just make sure they are 32-bit programs.

You would think MS would include spellcheckers in all their programs. Most
people use them and many people NEED them. I had to buy one online for OE
and found a free one for IE. I've yet to find a free one for Wordpad.

I used one for a while called "Autospell" from www.spellchecker.com. It is
pretty good. I forget what I paid for it, but it couldn't have been more
than $15.

Greetings --

Are you using a word processing application that provides a
spell-checking feature? WinXP is an operating system, so it naturally
has no such capability.

Try ieSpell. I'm using it now on this NG. I have WORD but it doesn't seem to
work on these NGs , for some reason. Sorry I do not have a URL, maybe a
lookup in Google would give you results. Hope you have a good firewall and
AV . The last time I searched on google I got covered up by Viruses, Trojan
Horses and Homepage hijackers. Good luck.

Sorry, forgot to say that ieSpell is a free spell checker . A little quirky
but good.

==================
Thanks I will check this one out. I do use wordpad to write letters to
those who don't have computers. At this time I'm writing them in OE to use
that spellchecker - then I C&P them into wordpad to print. We shouldn't
have to do this.... MS could easily add a spellchecker to Wordpad and OE
both.

Actually OE does not have a spell checker. It uses one from another program
such as Microsoft Word or Autospell. So if your copy of OE has access to a
spell checker, it (the spell checker) has to be coming from some other
source that you have on your computer.
