What else are you trying to run at the same time? Playing a DVD puts quite
a load on the PC if your specifications are on the low side for XP.

I am assuming you are playing this disc in your stand alone DVD player.
Typically this is a sign of bad media. Meaning that the brand or type of
media you are using is not fully compatible with your player. Freezes, skips
and jumpiness is a sign of bad media.
If this problem comes when you play the DVD on your PC, make sure you that
DMA is enabled on the IDE channel for your drive. Make sure your Video card
is up to speed. Other than those 2 things you could be looking at a DirectX,
DirectDraw, Overlay, etc...type of issue. There isn't too much than can go
wrong with playing DVD on the PC.
