Unable to install any printer - HELP

hi

I have just installed WinXP on my PC, but when i try to
install a printer thru "Add a Printer" by clicking it - i
immediately receive a error message dialog box

"operation could not be completed"

Kindly help what is the problem and what should i do.

Sounds like the print spooler has stopped. From the command prompt, type

net start spooler

(and hit enter) Now try to install again.
