Hello

I am attempting to Local Area Network two computers in my home, using
a D-Link card in the old system, connected to a NetGear router on the
new system. Both systems indicate that the link is good, but I don't
know how to communicate between the computers.

WIN98SE old system, WIN XP new system.

When network Mapping, "\\computerName\file" doesn't work no matter
what I try.

Thanks in advance for any and all practical suggestions.

I would run the Network Setup Wizard on the Windows XP machine and let
it create a Wizard Disk so that you can re-run the Wizard on the other
computer as well.
