View Full Version : Warning messages re corrupt file

I keep getting a message that the file
"\Prefetch\RNDAL.EXE-07F21559.pf"
is corrupt or unreadable, and to run CHKDSK.
I have done this several times, yet this message
continues to pop up, almost to the point of harassment!
Three questions:
1. How do I stop this diagnostic message from appearing?
2. What effect would deleting this file have on my system?
3. I have another computer with Win XP (different serial
number). Would it work to copy the file from that
computer to a disk and then copy it to this one?
Thanks in advance. Mike

Hi Mike,
This is a part of Real Player (Real Networks Dynamic App Launcher). Check

And you can also remove the runkey from here: Start/Run/Regedit
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Run
