When printing from my DeskJet 722C I get strange
characters where the lines or borders should be. It
prints fine under windows 95 or 98 but not under XP. The
program is a DOS program and have tried everything ! I
have newer printers from HP and all do the same thing. I
use this printer because I do a lot of graphic work and
can get ink cheaper. Any help would be greatly
appreciated

Try one more complete uninstall and reinstall.... as per my site at
http://www.coribright.com/Windows/Article%20One.htm
And also ensure the LPT port is set to EPP in the BIOS. It is, however, an
old and very discontinued printer. At some point, you really should think
about something a little newer, faster and with a USB connection.

DOS is not supported in XP. See if there is an emulator
for the program yu are trying to print from.
