permanently hiding mouse pointer?

I want to permanently hide the mouse pointer (and basically only use the
keyboard).

I have tried unplugging the mouse before booting, but the damn thing shows
up in the middle of the screen anyway.

How do I get rid of the mouse pointer in windows XP?
