Shutdown problem

When I go to shutdown my pc the Standby icon is greyed out. Any ideas why?

This option can be grayed out because your computer doesn't support it. I
seem to recall reading that a BIOS update might fix this problem, but I
can't be sure. Contact the manufacturer of your computer and see if an
update is available.
