XP Profesional Firewall problem

Dear users,
When I try to enable XP Prfo firewall on my internet connection ( DSL modem)
an error message comes saying ' An error occured while enabling internet
connection sharing. This function can not be completed'. Mine is a home PC
with out any networks. I directly connect to DSL modem through LAN cable for
internet.

At first , I made a network bridge (unknowingly) for internet access as my
PC as host computer for internet sharing. Later, I realized I don't require
a *network bridge setup with internet sharing*,so I deleted the network
bridge.From that time onwards I have problems in enabling fire wall on my
network adapter. I read in XP help that firewall can't be implemneted on a
internet sharing host computer...I think some setting is wrong some where...

Please help me.

(But I have XP Home edition on my D: drive...where I could enable/disable
firewall option without any problems. Here I didn't meddle with network like
making network bridge etc.,)
