I have (46) Windows XPPro pc's and have over (30) network printers on a Windows 2000 Advanced print server. Every time the XP pc's login to the domain, it seems that the pc tries to connect to each network printer which really slows down the login process.
Why does it try to connect to every printer when logging on?

This is a "feature" of the explorer process when the machines are on a
WORKGROUP. You should also be getting mapped shared folder connections at
the same time.
To disabled the feature, open any folder Tools /Folder Options /View ,
uncheck Automatically search for network folders and printers.
Or create a domain
In a home network many customers do like this feature.
