View Full Version : Converting to NTSF

I upgraded to XP Home edition from Windows me. I have two hard drives:
the main one, 30 GB and the second one, used as storage, 60 Gb.

I set the partition to FAT32 and now I want to convert the second
drive to NTSF so I can overcome the 4G limit when capturing video.

I tried to convert the second drive but got an error: "Convert cannot
run because the volume is used by another process".

Do I need to convert both?

No, you can convert one or the other. The notice about the volume being
used by another process is not unusual. When you get this error, you should
be prompted to dismount the drive, answer no. You'll then be asked if you
want to schedule the conversion for the next reboot.

I have Norton Systemworks installed. I've tried to it off, but not
%100 sure.
Still get the same warning. Should I ok the conversion on the next
reboot?

What bothers me is the warning I get that I would lose my old O/S
backup by converting the second drive. Can't find anything on it that
looks like it could be the backup. What is the file called?
