I don't understand the question. What are you trying to do?

In my website stats I am getting a 404 error, which means page not found.
Clearly some website robot for favicon is crawling my site looking for the
little icon that will appear in a user's IE favorites. Some sites have
specific instructions on how to keep their spiders from crawling. I want to
stop this "favicon" website from crawling my site.

I meant to send this to the FrontPage NG, which I just did. Sorry.

You might try 'Disallow: /favicon.ico'
