XP. WORKS DOESN'T MATCH UP WITH WHAT I NEED TO DO...HOW CAN
I GET EXCEL? OR DO I HAVE SOMETHING ON XP I JUST CAN'T
FIND? AND WHAT IS COREL??

Corel is a software developer. They make an office suite (Word Perfect)
that is compatible with MS Office. Word Perfect has a spread-sheet program
that is compatible with MS Excel.

Microsoft XP is an operating system.. Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet
program.. Microsoft Works is a cutdown office suite that gives the user an
easy entry into that kind of software.. MS Works was included in the
software package supplied to you so that your computer would have some
productivity value.. other than the fact that MS Works will run in XP, the
two products are seperate entities.. time to go out and buy new software..
Microsoft Office XP or earlier versions would work for you.. or maybe Corel
Office which includes Borland's Quattro Pro spreadsheet.. MS Excel can also
be bought 'stand alone', but the price differential favors the complete
Office Suite in many stores.. you may be eligible for the 'student'
version.. check it out with your college..

First of all, please unstick your CapsLock key. Posting in all
caps, as you have done, is the Usenet equivalent of shouting, and is
considered very rude. More importantly, posting in all caps makes the
post very hard to read, further reducing your chances of getting help.

1) Go to store/shop that sells computer software.

2) Purchase either Microsoft Excel or a Microsoft Office suite that
contains Excel.

3) Return home.

4) Insert installation CD in PC's CD drive and follow the on-screen
prompts and instructions to install application and desired additional
features.

Neither the Microsoft Office application suite, nor any of its
individual component applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Outlook, etc.), have _ever_ been "part" of *any* Windows operating
system. They are, and always have been, separate applications, that
must be purchased and installed separately.

Hi,

Check with your school to see if they offer the academic Office suite
package. You will need it in order to obtain Excel.
