Hi there
We have windows XP Home edition, and have broadband
My dads computer is messing up on him. He has two people
able to access windows. Now when you go under my dads name
(ill call him #2) when you click on internet explorer his
home page comes up but when you try and go like lets say
to his mail another window opens up, and the new window
does nothing. I tried to do a system restore, and I tried
that one I think about 2 or 3 times and every time I tried
to do a system restore it said that it was unable to
restore to that date. But under my screen name (ill call
it #1) everything works perfectley. I did a system restore
under my name and it worked but changed nothing under my
dads or the #2 user name. We talked to his broadband
provider and they said something about that it sounded
like a browser problem. What could it sound like to you?
Any info on this matter would be wonderful.
Thank you in advance for your time on this matter.

Have a good day!
Carl

Hi Carl,

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 urlmon.dll. Then go to:
IE/Tools/Internet Options/Programs/Reset Web Settings.

Hyperlinks not opening:

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 actxprxy.dll and then repeat the
process for regsvr32 shdocvw.dll.

Check your settings here:

Windows Explorer/Tools/Folder Options/File Types. Scroll down to
URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol/Advanced/Edit.

Under Application used to perform action it should read:
"C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -nohome

The "Open in a New Window" Command May Not Work. Go to Start/Run and type
each of these in:

regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Shell32.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

Hi there thanks for your answer, I did everything that=20
you said to do to the best of my knowlege. The only thing=20
is I get a little lost when I get to the last part where=20
you say "Add Open New Browser Window to IE Toolbar (Line=20
274)
>http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm". I went=20
to this site and found line 274 But was confused and=20
wanted to clerify what you told me to do. Do I need to=20
download line 274? And anything else I might need to know=20
when I do this procedure. Thanks again for your help on=20
this matter you have been a good help!!
