driver usb port cont

I am really new to computers.my scanner tha was working properly just dropped off and the usb port controller no has a horrible yoellow exclamation mark on it evey time I try to fix it it wants usbehci.sys in the driver cache dose anyone know what this is
I'd be truely grateful
