Hi, I'm running XP Home Ed in NTFS partitioned into two
drives. I've recently moved and wanted to do a scan for
bad sectors. The D: partition scanned fine, but I can only
scan through phase 2 on the C:. At the end of the second
phase it gives me "Windows was unable to complete the disk
check". The tutorial said it was supposed to ask me to
scan after rebooting, but it never does that. Please
advise. Thanks.

Did you check "Automatically Fix File System Errors"? This is what will
prompt the disk check on the next reboot.
